Hi MRS:
I looked for the message you sent me re:ABOUT OUR INPUT AND FEEDBACK TO THE "GRAND TASK"
Please read below:

Do you think she regrets us getting involved? I gather somehow the plan is changing? This is what I thought we were doing.

M does not regret our involvement in her very difficult shift from Benefits to Benefits/Compensation. I have had to simply wait for her to process the information she needed to work out. To answer you:
1. Evaluating the websites so she would know exactly what resources were offered and perhaps how to use them (MRS)
Ans:Because M did not know which resource would be the most useful I could never pin her down on this. But we do have all the websites she thought would be useful listed in her "Favorites" on hrinouye.
2. Abstracting the 20+ booklets that she said she had to read (each booklet was around 20 to 25 pages) (DLH)
Ans:This has been put on hold for awhile. But, I continue to remind her to let me sort Compensation materials in order to skim for pertinent articles.
3. Sumarizing maybe 3 or 4 software programs for staff evaluations (e.g. setting pay ranges using one of two main methods) (MRS)
Ans:I think this is ongoing with her boss's and staff input.
4. Assisting in the process of obtain Job Descriptions for the 250 managers and all the new jobs created on the run (DLH)
Ans:M signed up for an online program with Watson-Wyatt. The managers should be able to have quick access, with some assistance from Compensation. She is still waiting for permission to sign on to the NAIS (teachers) website, so far, they have been uncooperative.
5. Working with her as she plowed through the comp file cabinets - taking notes and jotting down the project areas as she discovered them (DLH)
Ans:This has changed. M does not need to do in the method we planned previously.
6. Helping her some up with an overall plan and direction for the comp & benefit area (MRS + DLH)
Ans:Unsure she has already done on her own with some assistance from other consultants.
7. Creating a proposal for telecommuting for three people (at least one day a week) (MRS + DLH)
Ans:We should continue this research for her "future" needs, but it is not a priority as the climate does not support telecommuting.

Can you check your notes and memory to see if this jives with what yo remember?

M has completed self-study course on Excel. She is slowly learning the uses and benefit of online research, with much help from (US). She was able to organize her thoughts with the help of an Organization Development specialist. It seems to have made her turn the corner. We should congratulate ourselves (mostly because of you) for what has transpired. You put her on the right track.
MRS: Okay, I guess we shall just put this topic on the back burner. Did you get my answer to your query about the union question? Was it useful? Let M know that we can do quite a range of research quite easily. She just needs to ask.
