All Communications Posts - To's & From's
Hi DLH:Please let me know when you have read all the initial stuff posted to this blog. Then, I'll start to delete all the extraneous stuff and we can get started. Did M give you the user names and access codes? Oh, I just remembered, I forgot to check the RR email account. If this were a Pro account, we could access email right here. However, I think the way we have this setup is okay. What do you think?
I also think that we should post our comments to each other in this one post. When it gets too bulky, we can start a new post\thread up. I am hoping to keep the number of posts down. Otherwise, we will have a hard time pulling everything together at interim reporting dates. Also, if we make separate posts each time we leave messages for each other, we will not be able to locate the posts. MRS out at 8:21 PM ... Back in at 10:35pm I made changes to Workforce (see the 1st 12/31/02 post). I was limited in what I could do because of not having an account for that site. I also started the telecommuting post. out at 10:44pm
Saturday 4:59 PM Did some more work on the telecommuting post. I did start on another of the sites, but got stopped because I did not have access codes. I also found some interesting threads on a WorkForce Forum which I mailed to RR until I know what to do with them. At RR, I created folders for each post. I thought this would be the best way to keep track of what we are finding. Do you think M would be interested in interesting HR ideas we come across? Does she have an email address at work? Or should I send anything to you first, so you can decide whether you need to extract the info further. Should I send this type of email to hotmail or esp1949 or HR cs...My...My...My... nothing but questions this late saturday afternoon! Sorry about that...TTYS

HI MRS:
I will reread most of these posts before I give you an intelligent answer. I notice you found out what IOMA stands for, shucks, I wanted to tell you. BTW, I joined Workforce at one point while doing research for MSI. I looked at my profile and noticed that I simply filled in my name and email address, but not too much more than that and did not have any problem, when I logged in I did not have any problems then either, when it comes to HEC however, because it is a local org we should probably let MSI receive anything from them. Will try to focus on the posts and respond asap. Out at 8:35P

Hi DLH:
I consolidated our posts here. I wanted to try to keep the number of posts down. Also, I wanted us to have one place where all of our back and forth posts show up. On the use of our own name, I am a little uncertain about this. Somehow, I thought it might be better if the web tracks you and I leave led to either HR@cs or HR@rr. What do you think? Regarding the HEC, I tink it would be better if we get the email directly at HR@cs or HR@rr. If it goes to MSI, then we might not get it back in the right format. Of course, hard copy should go to MSI directly. When we have to create new posts because of a new site or subject we are tracking, then I will move this post so that it will show up first when we get here. I think that will make it less confusing. I took the next two posts from the somewhere inside this blog. Just neatening up, tonight.
Initiating 1/07/2003 post 12:19 AM Hi DLH: Been waiting for your go-ahead to start clearing up all the posts. Any news on the user names and passwords? Maybe we should just sign up separately and use our own HR address. That will probably make for the least amount of confusion. Just remembered that I need to email yuo to tell you aboout our latest medical emergency. Toodles.
Wednesday 7:30 PM Hello MRS:
Please start cleaning the posts up til 1/3/2003 Telecommuting. Let's talk some more about how we can help M. with the research. M has told me she needs time right now to evaluate her status in compensation. "Time to think"......are her exact words. So please do not worry about the user names etc. I think your idea of signing up in your own user name is a good idea. This way we can run thru the sites and evaluate what is there or not there. Also, should I be sending you emails to your RR account and hotmail account, just so you don't miss seeing my message? D.
Thursday 12:35 AM Okay, this sounds good. However, there are certain accounts that are not going to give us access unless we use her name with the HR address. Do you think she regrets us getting involved? I gather somehow the plan is changing? This is what I thought we were doing:
1. Evaluating the websites so she would know exactly what resources were offered and perhaps how to use them (MRS)
2. Abstracting the 20+ booklets that she said she had to read (each booklet was around 20 to 25 pages) (DLH)
3. Sumarizing maybe 3 or 4 software programs for staff evaluations (e.g. setting pay ranges using one of two main methods) (MRS)
4. Assisting in the process of obtain Job Descriptions for the 250 managers and all the new jobs created on the run (DLH)
5. Working with her as she plowed through the comp file cabinets - taking notes and jotting down the project areas as she discovered them (DLH)
6. Helping her some up with an overall plan and direction for the comp & benefit area (MRS + DLH)
7. Creating a proposal for telecommuting for three people (at least one day a week) (MRS + DLH)
Can you check your notes and memory to see if this jives with what yo remember? I am shocked that I had so much in memory. I actually cannot locate the hard copy notes that I took that nite. They are somewhere here in this office...(ggg)
